The first: I used the paint brush all the way to white to outline, I used the bristle at 10 , oil paint, drop water all of these at 145 gray more less, copied and paste as a new image and a fill in very light beige added emboss texture scaled down the level so the grain wouldn't look so hard.

The second: This was hard work, I did same steps as the first one, but at the end used a fill in light opaque blue and the same texture. UFF! This was a tough one, specially the outlining.
The third: I did all the same steps, just at the end when I copied and pasted as a new image, I also duplicated it in order to give it a more thick look because I wanted to fill in the background with wood, I didn't add texture, cause the wood gave me that.

The fourth: with this one I got a little carried away, with the result I had in the third sketch I added a very light beige fill (no texture) and then Format/Auto Process/Adjust then Effect/Artistic/DueTone. The results were amazing, the rest as you can see was pure decor.

I used mostly the bristle (gray 255) for the coat and part of the face, then changed to paint brush (gray 255) for the eyes, mouth, nose and eyebrows. Then changed to gray:145 and used airbrush for some parts of the coat, face and neck, used more bristle and a little oil paint on the mouth and hair. Also used for final touch bristle smear, specially for the coat.
When finished, copied, pasted as a new image and filled in with gradient, two colors (white and a light blue with some gray) then merged all. Sharpened (using the one with less results). Added texture, embossed with:
scaling:54/level:7/transp:50/variation:0/direction:45

PS: this was my outfit in Moscow, 30 degrees below zero.
I had never felt so cold in my life!
This is a photo sketch of the original, I added shapes with the path drawing tool fill: Rosie's waters /3D Custom/border:3/depth:30. Then shadow (the first one) X:6/Y:6/Transp:50/size:100/Soft edges.:4.

This first one above has a light blue fill, that has been fixed with the color balance, to more blue, added light: effect/Ilumination/lights then expanded canvas and added 3 or 4 colors the that "frame" and over all this Effect/Material Effect/crystal and Glass.

The second one, with the path drawing tool , shape square, drew a big square to fit the canvas, 3D, and applied one of Rosie H.  engraved silver presets.
Added Light effect/illumination/lights. And done.
